Trump Gains Momentum Toward Republican Nomination Amidst Series of Triumphs

On Saturday, Donald Trump emerged victorious in several Republican presidential contests, advancing him toward winning the position of nominee for the party in November.

Nikki Haley, the former ambassador to the United Nations, is still chasing her first victory.

Both in Missouri, where there were 54 Republican delegates available, and in Michigan, where there were 39 delegates up for grabs on Saturday, Trump emerged victorious in both contests.

This was on top of the twelve at-large delegates that Trump secured during Tuesday’s Republican primaries in Michigan.
According to CBS News, Trump won all 32 delegates in Idaho as well.

With his three victories on Saturday, Trump now has 247 delegates nationwide, while Haley has 24 delegates.

On Saturday, there were no Democratic contests.

The District of Columbia GOP caucus is the next competition on Sunday. Super Tuesday is scheduled for two days later. It will be the biggest voting day of the year outside of the November election, with 16 states and American Samoa holding primaries. Days later, Trump is expected to secure the nomination.

At their Grand Rapids convention on Saturday, Michigan Republicans gave 51 of the state’s 55 GOP presidential delegates Donald Trump.

However, the aftermath of a months-long fight over the party’s leadership was keeping a large chunk of the grassroots force away from the event.

This past Tuesday, Trump easily defeated Haley in Michigan’s primary, receiving 68% of the vote to 27% for Haley.

After Democrats, who run the state government, pushed Michigan into the early primary states against the wishes of the national Republican Party, Michigan Republicans were obliged to divide their allotment of delegates into two halves.

The only opportunity for Missouri voters to choose the party’s nominee for president in November came on Saturday during the Missouri Republican Party’s presidential caucuses.

Before the doors of the University of Missouri’s campus in Columbia opened, voters formed a queue outside the chapel.

Carmen Christal, a native of Columbia, stated, “I don’t know what my role here will be, besides standing in a corner for Trump,” but she’s “just looking forward to the experience of it.”

Biden Is Stupid - Catholic Bishop Slams Joe Biden

Considering the discrepancy between President Biden’s declared Catholic religion and his policies, a Catholic bishop from Michigan, USA, has commented and suggested “forgiveness” for the president’s “stupidity.”

During a sermon at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption titled “Forgiveness as the Heart of Christianity,” Saginaw Catholic Diocese Bishop Robert Gruss brought up Biden.

According to Fox News, throughout the conversation, Gruss urged attendees to let go of unwarranted animosity and hate toward other people.

The clergyman mentioned his personal upbringing with an alcoholic father and a letter he sent to him as an adult expressing his forgiveness for the pain he had endured as a child.

The bishop expressed sympathy for Biden while also considering his own views against him. Biden has publicly identified as a Catholic, but he also supports gender ideology, abortion, and other policies that run counter to Church doctrine.

“I don’t have any anger towards the president. I feel sorry for him. I’m not angry at him, he’s just stupid,” Gruss said.

The comment provoked renewed laughter from the audience, though the bishop remained serious.

“It’s not stupidity in the derogatory way, it’s stupidity in the sense of … he doesn’t understand the Catholic faith.”

Egyptian President Sisi Inaugurated for Third Tenure

In presence of the parliament on Tuesday, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi took the oath of office for a third term as the president of the most populous nation in the Arab world.

After defeating three relative unidentified contestants in a December election with 89.6 percent of the vote, Sisi, who has been in office for the last ten years, is expected to hold the presidency until 2030.

Unless he manages to pass another constitutional change to extend his term, the 69-year-old’s six-year term is expected to be his last.

The New Administrative Capital of Egypt, which is situated in the desert east of Cairo, was also inaugurated on the occasion of the swearing, according to local media.

Massive demonstrations against Islamist president Mohammed Morsi, who was overthrown in 2013, helped Sisi ascend to power.

The following year, with about 97% of the vote, he was elected president once more, this time in 2018.

His administration has been fighting for the last two years to stem the flow of consequences from a harsh economic crisis that has caused the currency to lose two thirds of its value and sent inflation skyrocketing to a record 40 percent last year.

However, more than $50 billion in loans and investment agreements were made to Egypt in the first quarter of 2024. Cairo claims this will alleviate the country’s severe foreign exchange shortages and boost the economy.

Trump Asks Biden For Apology After Declaring Easter Sunday as Trans Day of Visibility

Former President Trump has asked that President Joe Biden immediately apologize to millions of Catholics and Christians for declaring Easter Sunday to be Trans Visibility Day.

The Biden administration’s “years-long assault on the Christian faith,” according to the Trump campaign, is what led to the action.

Following the outcry from well-known politicians and conservative pundits over the “Transgender Day of Visibility” at the most solemn Christian festival, Trump demanded that President Biden issue an apology.

“The Biden White House has betrayed the central tenet of Easter, which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” said House Speaker Mike Johnson in a post on X. It is foolish and immoral to forbid both sacred truth and custom while also designating Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day.” The people of America are paying attention.

Biden inspired anger last week when he proclaimed March 31 to be the “Transgender Day of Visibility,” which falls on Easter Sunday this year.

Biden’s official declaration of Easter Sunday as “Trans Day of Visibility” was deemed “appalling and insulting” by Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s national press secretary.

Biden’s declaration, according to Leavitt, is an illustration of his administration’s “years-long assault on the Christian faith.”

We call on Joe Biden’s failing campaign and the White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only—the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” she said.

Leavitt also accused the Biden administration of banning religious egg designs in its Easter Art Event, which is part of the White House’s Easter traditions that include the annual Easter Egg Roll.
