Iheanacho Set to Depart from Leicester City This Summer

According to transfer source Dean Jones, Kelechi Iheanacho will depart Leicester City this summer.

Iheanacho’s Leicester City contract is set to expire in June, and there are currently no talks regarding a renewal.

This season, the attacker has also not been a regular starter for the Foxes.

In 25 league games for Enzo Maresca’s team, the 27-year-old has netted six goals.

At the end of the season, Jones expects the Nigerian international to sign a free transfer and depart Leicester City.

“It looks like he will leave Leicester, and at the moment, the most likely path for him to take is to Turkey.

“Trabzonspor are one of the teams for him, and these sorts of options might have to become very real, even though it seems to be early in his career,” Jones told GIVEMESPORT.

“From a Leicester point of view, keeping him doesn’t seem a wise move as he is one of the higher earners in that side, and he has only started ten games in a season when they are going for a Championship promotion.”

Iheanacho joined Leicester City from Manchester City in 2017.

EPL: Ten Hag Reveals He Requested Harry Kane But Man Utd Signed Hojlund Instead

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has disclosed that he had hoped to sign Harry Kane for the team last summer, but Rasmus Hojlund was signed instead.

Hojlund has made 26 league appearances in his first season at Old Trafford, scoring eight goals, while Kane has scored 35 goals in 31 Bundesliga outings for Bayern.

“We have had some choices made with talents like Rasmus Hojlund.

“I can see a striker who already proved it, who we want to sign and we couldn’t get him. And then we went to Rasmus because he’s a talent,” Ten Hag said during an interview with Gary Neville for Sky Sports.

When questioned directly if he was referring to Kane, Ten Hag said, “Yes, and you know Harry Kane will get you 30 goals.”

“I think Rasmus will get there, but he needs time. It’s not fair to assess him the same as Harry Kane. I would never compare two players because they are very different.”
