Davido Breaks Silence on Buju Mocked Him On Twitter

After singer Buju mocked him on social media, afrobeats musician Davido has finally responded.

Remember that Buju used the X-platform to promote his new artist earlier. He was shaded by an X-user by the name of Ola when he disclosed that his new artist was substandard.

But Buju had called him a retard, and slammed him. He went on to say that this specific X user’s favourite artist wasn’t all that great, which is why he shouldn’t have said anything at all.

According to what he said,

“Knowing your fave, you’re not supposed to speak on anything regarding music. Fem.”

It was also confirmed that he meant Davido when he used the word FEM.

Additionally, it was found through additional investigation into this Twitter user’s profile that he had set Davido as his Twitter display photo. Buju was swiftly met with criticism from certain netizens and strong Davido admirers, who pointed out that Buju didn’t need to single out Davido when the latter had been trashing him on Twitter.

Davido has responded to this now. Davido took to the X-platform to remove a certain tweet he had posted in April 2023. He disclosed in the tweet that he had collaborated with Buju on a song, claiming it to be an absolute masterpiece.

Furthermore, he had given hints that they would be releasing it soon. He later removed that tweet from the X-platform, implying that he was no longer keen to work with Buju on a musical project.

In response to this recent event, Buju also used the X-platform to counter troll remarks. He disclosed that he was the original songwriter of the song and that he still intended to release it. In addition, he said that supporters frequently exaggerated matters.

He expressed, “Olamide was 13 years old when I met him. He came to my studio with a friend who wanted to feature him on a song. His friend was not good musically. Olamide was quiet and unassuming. I gave him a beat, and he did 16 bars that changed everything. Olamide became more like a son to me.

“When he was about to leave my record label, we sat down to discuss it. It was painful to me. It wasn’t the pain of not wanting him to progress; it was the pain of seeing someone you love leave. I cried.

“I said, ‘Olamide, you should’ve waited o!’ He said, ‘Bros, I want to do something, and I’m sure, by your code, we might not be able to do some of them.’ We didn’t have a fight. I gave him my full blessings.”
